PM INSPECTIONS - CRANE DIVISION
Our
service department is dedicated
to serving our customers with
quality repairs and offers a variety
of preventive maintenance and
inspection programs. All inspections
are completed in accordance with
OHSA requirements and can be designed
and scheduled to meet your particular
needs. It is our mandate to ensure
that you obtain the full service
potential from your lifting equipment,
minimizing unexpected downtime.
The following is a breakdown of
what's included in your Preventive
Maintenance Inspection. In accordance
with the appropriate operating
and maintenance instructions,
O'BRIEN INSTALLATIONS
will conduct visually, without
any disassembly of major components
or sub-assemblies, the
following: |

- An inspection
of the electrical component
- An inspection
of the mechanical components;
- An inspection
of the hoisting ropes and/or
chains, excluding load slings
or hook attachments, unless
specified and agreed upon
prior to commencement of this
work;
- An inspection
of the general condition of
the equipment, related to
the operational environment.In
addition, O'BRIEN Installations will undertake the
following actions, at the
time of inspection:
- Where
necessary, electrical tests
comprising voltage, amperage
and resistance tests of the
equipment.
- Operation
of the motors to check satisfactory
operation of the various motions.
- Any minor
adjustments to brakes, limit
switches and similar components
which O'BRIEN Installations
considers necessary for the
continued safe performance
of the equipment under the
inspection, as described in
the operating instructions
for the relevant items.
A. Where necessary, the application
of grease and oil.
B. Preparation of repair estimate,
if necessary, detailing repairs
required to be performed,
in order to certify the equipment.
(subject to conditions of
warranty)
- To inspect
all structural steel stress
points on cranes and runway
systems.
- Issue
of Inspection Certificate,
approved by the Department
of Labour.
- All
work being performed shall
be in accordance with OSHA
Section 1010.179 and related
to Section 51, for certifying
any lifting device at least
once per year.
